POSITION TITLE: Technician
CLASSIFICATION: Classification “IV” per Schedule A of the collective agreement DEPARTMENT: Integrative Biology
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
The University of Windsor is situated on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations: the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides professional support services to the Departments of Integrative Biology and Biomedical Sciences. These include: - support for teaching labs - provides water of desirable purity for research and teaching labs - supplies research and teaching labs with apparatus, chemicals, media and maintains stockroom inventory - provides and maintains records of distribution of all goods received by the stockroom - responds to all emergency situations, e.g. medical, fire and chemical spills and provides appropriate assistance.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have: • B.Sc. or equivalent (3-year community college). Must include several Microbiology and Chemistry courses that had laboratory sessions as an integral part. *This position is subject to final budgetary approval*
